"Loss is the one thing in life we can count on because change is the one constant in life. And each significant change (chosen or not) results in loss even as it opens us to experience some gain. But, unless we grieve loss, our ability to embrace the gain will be restricted. In this experience together we will explore how to help ourselves and others grieve loss so we can see and embrace the gifts of the unknown future. We will discover how to grieve well (that is how to learn to live again in the absence of something or someone significant). We will discuss how our work with clients that is designed to help them grow might be enhanced by facing the losses they will suffer in the growth. Loss is a genuine gift that clears space for us to see and explore different parts of our lives. By attending to the pain and emptiness, we can explore significant insights into who we are and who we might be come."
Dr. Dan Moseley is the Professor Emeritus at Christian Theological Seminary. He has been involved in the development of Grief Healing, Inc., taught workshops on grief and loss throughout the country. He is the author of "Living with Loss" and "Healing Relationships: A Preaching Model." He and his wife Deborah have jointly authored a "Discovery Journal" which helps guide people through the process of grieving loss (available at www.danmoseley.com).
